On The Roll

A couple of weeks ago I had posted about the Wedding Invitations (<-- click there if you have not seen it before) I made for my Sis-In-Law. The wedding is about a month away now and I have finally finished making many other things, and here they are.

I made the ring bearer pillow, 6 bridesmaids bags, and 100 Wedding Programs. The goldish-champagne color fabric I used on the pillow and bags are from the matching shawls of the bridesmaids dresses. The bride (my SIL) did not want them to use the shawls and she mentioned that it would be great if the bridesmaids have matching bags so I will be surprising her with these. Each bag is monogrammed with the bridesmaid's initials. I found these iron-on monograms in a fabric store which ended up so well with it. And easy to apply too.

Now the Wedding Program shown on the picture is still in the working progress. I had to stencil out the hole one by one so that took a lot of time. Then I printed on a gold vellum with the Double Happiness, the commonly used Chinese Wedding character.

This is truly the first time I took a major sewing project. I mean I've always done pillows for my home, but never had to design things to this extent and of course all these made me awfully proud to show off my newly found skills.

Now I just have the Menu, and Bachelorette Party (wooot!) planning to finish. But that's a whole other topic. I will need to consult ideas with you guys about this on the next posting.

Where are you, MJ? I'm worried about you!
Oh My God. Why weren't you part of my family when I was getting married? What you've done will truly make this day special for everyone. People will remember what you've created rather than just forgetting store bought and ordered things. You're wonderful.
