Deciphering Kiddie Language
Funny how as parents, we are the only ones who understand our children's language. My little one is growing up and I somehow miss how he once mixed his sentences with his own words. And being so animated when talking, the cuteness just overflows.
He says: You have BIG hekabumbum, I have a wittle wittle one.
He means: I have a humongous breast (from the size he was showing with his arms), and his is little.
He says: Mama, where's the mohmote?
He means: Where is the remote? (Daddy has trained him early)
He says: I luv hang-guh-ber.
He means: He loves Hamburger. (Could he be more German with that word?)
He says: I bog my head. ( Bog is more like a big thump sound)
He means: I hit my head.
Children are so fun! What funny words have you heard from children?

She also was trying to learn the word fish once and we tried to sound it out because she always said sif (sort of backwards). So we said say : fa-fa-fa fish. She'd say fa-fa-fa- sif! It was funny then.

My two yrs old seb, whenever he sees his papa,he'd ask : papa, auto fart_ten (german)? (correct word: auto fahren, meaning ' car driving')
This word 'auto fart_ten'
always makes me laugh as my joke to my husband... Oh yes seb!papa loves auto fart_ten, It's your papa's fave hobby (expelling gas in car , LOL)
My son says "met-mih" for oatmeal, and he says "me's" (as in, "No! That's not Daddy's! It's me's!"). Also instead of "watermelon" we get "mellamelon," and from Toy Story he picked up, "all right, you wanna piece of meat?!"
We're also working to correct my bad influence. He'll say, "Dangit!" and then make sure to point out, "I didn't say damnit, I said dangit!"
Kids are so cute. I love their little language mixups - so precious!
