*** Check out my entry in MomViews.nettoo...Sharing you the newest TV Ad for V-Fusion! You guys are the first to see it.
Thanks to Weber Shandwick (Aaryn Enos, Sarah Kittel, Caroline Guth & Sarah Mages) Campbells, V-8!!! You are all fantastic. Here is another video blog recap of my great day here in Philly. And below that are other video tidbits that happened during the day we spent at Campbell's Headquarters.
Things are just starting to die down from last week's craziness. It was good crazy though, so I'm not really complaining. Infact they were so good that it isn't possible to recap in one posting. However, one particular event that we've been working on for awhile now finally happened last thursday. And that is the launching party of my newest web baby Chicagonista.com.
I truly had fun planning the event. For those that know me well - they know that I delve into these kind of stuff. It is where I'm most comfortable and confident on. From the simplest task of buying the right hors d'ouevres pik to the right looking bottle of wine that will be sitting on the bar. I love having to picture what the place needs and so I can create something of visual interest. The best part though is finally doing it with someone who is as passionate about throwing parties. My good friend and business partner Jen is truly a partner-in-crime when it comes to wicked party planning.
Our venue was Mars Gallery. The place was spectacular and to be surrounded with Art is just divine! We managed to score with the most awesome sponsors. Photobooth Express was there and our guests were able to take as many pictures as they want with as many as 10 people. The pictures instantly prints with our Chicagonista logo too.Ablon Chicago was there and gave relaxing chair massages and we even gave out (2) 1 hour in-home massage services as drawing prizes! M&Ms Premium also came and handed out the premium boxed chocolates. Truly melts in your mouth! Lincoln Park Athletic Club gave us the opportunity to give out a 3 month membership to their club. A cost value of almost $500. Spirit Technologies revamped, redesigned, and revitalizedChicagonista.com, so you'll have to visit our smashing new site! Thank you Spirit Technologies for giving us a wonderful web home!
We even had some local celebrities there. Kevin Luthardt was there signing books and the best of all Miss Lori of PBS who gave a beautiful speech about Chicagonista's value to our community. It was just beautiful! So the party came and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole process til the end. Everything went as expected and we are looking forward in doing more. Yeah, that's how much we love it!
Check out our pictures below!
Oh, and last but not least --- I was really touched how my best group of friends were able to make it! Gigi you were missed by the group and I totally understand why you couldn't. It feels nice to see that that you guys are so supportive and happy for me.
My inner geek can't help but drool over all the CES news I've been reading these past few days. You see, I was supposed to be there. I was all registered to go for months now and have been dreaming of flying to Vegas for the CES show. I got all tied up with so much stuff that I had to let it go and now I have nothing to show but my shiny registration card below. :-( For those interested in reading more, check out my friend and Tech Goddess Beth and her blog @ Techmamas.comon her fabulous finds without me! We were planning to be roomies and honestly she's lucky to not room with me anyway. HAH!
January came and I'm busier and crazier than I had ever expected. Work is piling up as fast as my laundry is. The great thing about laundry is that you can just dump it in the washer, throw in the detergent and voila everything you want off are gone. Not so much with work. The more work you do, the load triples! True, isn't it?!
So while I have SOOOO many blog topics I'd like to get to, let me take this moment to shout silently so that no one can hear.
In the mean time, go to Chicagomomsblog.com and check out my newest posting. And check out my Chicagonista site's new look when it is up and going hopefully by the end of the day.
You know I love you right? But what's with these American ApparelAds? And you said breastfeeding pics are obscene! I just don't get you now. Or are you just showing us another example on how much truth there is to "when money talks, bullshit walks" cliche'? In that case, maybe you should have a pay membership upgrade for those who would like to upload any photos they want that is listed under your personal undesirables (whatever that may be). Hey, that's a revenue driven opportunity for you to build on. Now say thank you and cut me a check.
Or anyone who is a freebie whore like moi! lol I honestly hate posting anything like this...but just the thought of steaming hot coffee during Chicago's bitter cold mornings make me want to post everything-that-has-to-do-with-hot-breakfast comes free my way! But really, Dunkin Donuts -- you could've at least threw in some donuts (or toasted everything bagel with strawberry cream cheese please). I'm just sayin!
Happy New Year! I feel like 2008 just swooshed by and I’m still not feeling 2009 yet. What is there to feel anyway? But because it is the New Year, I wanted to start off with some cleansing.
Since my kids started school in the fall of 2008, I felt that my normally organized self has left. I NEED to get myself back. I was barely coping between the laundry, kid’s school stuff, the baby, and of course my newly launched Chicagonista.com with meetings and all. From where I see it, nothing will change along with the last digit 8 -- unless I do something about it. There has to be changes, and I need to do it before I get so deep with my list that I won't be able to climb my way out.
I’ve taken on a lot. I know. I’m talking about my writing and blogging. So I've decided to step away from one of my sites. Just recently I had offered my blog baby FilipinaMoms.com ( a collaborative cultural blog that I run) to Mom2Amara and I am so relieved that she happily accepted. This is really hard for me to do, but knowing that Mom2Amara is the right person for the job makes me feel good. It was the perfect timing, and the perfect person to hand it down to. Thank you Mom2Amara!
My next step is to reorganize how and when I do things at home. This first week of January, I am taking the time to set my priorities straight and get my schedules done. I thought about giving myself an actual schedule. I can dab on every project that needs done everyday and give myself deadlines. A kind of schedule that will allow me to sleep and not worry about waking up in the middle of the night feeling like I have missed something. My responsibilities grew quite a bit and I simply cannot manage it anymore by just winging it as needed. I need to stick to my schedule and that’s that.
Looks like I’ve made a New Year’s resolution. I don’t ever remember making one before. Let’s hope that the 1st time’s a charm.
