My Take On Mother's Day

In running a tight ship in my household you would have to be consistent in managing your daily chores. Just imagine 2 rambunctious little boys and a newborn baby girl, you know I am as busy as a one-legged woman kicking butt all day. And if I falter for one day, it’ll cost me more stress because everything will double up on me. I’d have to lose more sleep just to get the laundry done, the school uniforms ironed, the toys put away, etc…

So in hopes of enjoying my own Mother’s Day I plan ahead and try to do everything I could so that I can forgo all the work for the special day so my husband and kids can lavish me with sweetness. I pretend that the clothes in the floor, the toys everywhere, and all the dishes can wait. Yes it did, but it waited for me.

I wish all the sweetness overflowed the day after Mother’s Day, but I am back at it and have to back track all that has missed. I used to say that Mother’s Day should be stretched out into a week of celebration – but now I realized I’m so glad that it is just for one day.

So true! I have to be hyper organized not to feel overwhelmed! We had company all last week, now I get to play catch up :)

Glad you relaxed on Mother's Day!

I'm glad you got one day to relax, even if you're playing a bit of catch up today.

We need new pictures of that beautiful girl of yours.

I know what you mean. Can you imagine having to catch up with a week's load of housework? Yikes!

Oh my gosh, I totally know what you mean! Double the work for just a day's rest. No fair!

I had the same issue on Mother's Day. And every Monday night I have a girl's night out, so all day on Monday I kill myself to get everything doen so that I can go out and my hubby won't "have to do everything." But when I get hoem the place is a wreck. Is my 4 hours out worth all of that work before and after? Hmmm...Yes, yes it is. LOL! It's not fair, but it keeps me sane!

I saw your link at Adventures In Babywearing's Blog. :-)
