| As expected - my husband and I get bombarded with questions, hopes, and wishes that we are to finally have a girl. But reality is, we just want a very healthy and happy baby - irregardless of gender. Because, what does it really matter if it is a boy or a girl?! But after saying that over and over again. We had a sudden change of heart. As guilty as we feel about it, we actually took preference. All because of this video. I can only hope that our baby will be as rockin' as this one is. Take a look for yourself. You will see the convenience it will bring in your life as parents. | |
Girl or Boy?
Brotherly Love
As I was cleaning my laptop this morning, I found this picture that brought me to tears. They were happy but yet sad tears. This is a picture of my 2 boys just a little over 3 years ago.
The picture shows how loving my firstborn was to my newborn -- but behind this picture, he was mostly in an emotional turmoil. That was the sad part of this memory. No sibling classes or any parental guidance could've prepared him more when his new little brother was born. Just when my husband and I thought we had him all ready for the addition in the family (God knows how much preparation we went through so he could feel as part of the new venture), he turned out to be the complete opposite.
My firstborn did everything to show us how much he hated the new situation. He would shout at the baby, and even said “Go back to Mama’s tummy now”. I caught him taking away the baby blanket and hiding it away. He hated the idea that he has a brother. And every single time I got up to breastfeed in the wee hours of the night, he was up and throws a tantrum and asking for anything he can get me away from the baby.
My husband and I cried so much. We were such an emotional bunch. We felt his pain, but he had to learn that there is someone new in our lives. My awesome husband attended to the new baby at night, so then my firstborn can feel secure that Mama will always love him, no matter what.
Eventually, he learned to love his brother. Now they are inseparable. At most times they gang up on me. Hehe. Last night they both refuse to sleep in their own separate beds. They both decided to read their last book together, and giggled through their silly stories until they both fell asleep. As soon as it got quiet I checked in their room and they fell asleep in a sweet embrace. I seem to have done something right.
With the 3rd baby on the way, I am pretty sure both my boys are ready for a new one. But they are both quick to add that “it better be a boy”. Haha. I think I’m going to have to grow a whole basketball team.

Oh Happy Day!
I am officially on my 2nd trimester now. Was that quick or what? Those sticking dust you guys have been sending my way has worked :-) . Little bean has managed to stay in and make him/herself comfortable and I am just soooo happy. I had another ultrasound and saw my lil' one moving and even heard the heart beating just for Mama.My Mom and sister came along to the ultrasound and my sister was so funny singing "My Hump" the whole time the baby kept moving to show his/her back. Oh and get this, I am due Feb. 14th! How sweet is that?!
I also want to shout out how happy I am that J's Mommy at Another Mommy Moment 8th week pregnancy checkup turned out well. And just about a few minutes ago, I just read from sweet Chelle of Crazy Thoughts that she is also expecting! Go visit their blogs and wish them both all the good luck and sprinkle some sticking dusts you had so thoughtfully given me.
I just realized that my blogroll now consist of really emotional and hormonal women. lol! Anyone else want to jump in the pregnancy wagon let me know....anyone else?
Better Late Than Never
Ok, ABlondeBlogger and Incoherent-ish both tagged me weeks ago while I was away from the comfort of my domain. I couldn't possibly delve into it then because life got in the way. Oh well! Anyway - Just be glad that I'm not tagging anyone back because I'm sure everyone in blogland has probably been hit with this one already. So here it is...
What were you doing 10 years ago?
Wow, thats a loaded question. I was still in the Fashion Industry and travelled every other week for business.
What were you doing 1 year ago?
A year ago around this time I was so excited about my firstborn starting Kindergarten. I was shopping for school supplies like he was moving into a new dorm for college. hehe
Five snacks you enjoy:
I'm not so much a snacker, but more into full meals. So here are some that I would munch on if someone place it in front of me:
1) Taffy Apples
2) Trail Mixes
3) Chex
4) Toffee Bars
5) Chili Cheese Fries (Damn I'm hungry now)
Five songs to which you know all the lyrics:
1)Somebody by Depeche Mode (who doesn't?)
2)I Want A Little Sugar In My Bowl by Nina Simone (of course)
3)Let's Fall In Love by Ella Fitzgerald (I have an old soul)
4)The Very Thought Of You by Nat King Cole (This is our wedding song)
5)Patty Cake - My son's favorite baby song/rhyme
Five things you would do if you were a millionaire:
1) Get a cook 7 days a week ( the biggest luxury there is - I think)
2) Get an assistant for my husband
3) A big house smack dab in the Gold Coast area with enough room for a huge lawn and pool.
4) A personal masseuse for me and husband for a daily relaxation
5) A personal stylist, hairstylist, and make-up artist so I can look like a diva every single day even if I was just running to a Mommy Group meeting, or as simple as picking up my boys from school.
Five bad habits:
1) I was told that I am too anal
2) Volunteering my services for free - I'm basically a sucker at times
3) Complain to husband about everything (Well who else does a better job in making me feel better but him)
4) I shop when I am feeling blue
5) I can't stay away from checking my email all day long
Five things you like doing:
1) Sex -- is that so wrong?
2) Reading before sleep
3) Taking my boys out to eat
4) Family Hugs (which we oftenly do before bed)
5) Getting together with my girlfriends
Five things you would never wear again:
1) My micro-minis from the 80s
2) Ankle boots (although I heard that it is back for the fall)
3) Padded Shoulder Pads
4) Blue Eyeshadow
5) Cavaricci Pants
Five favorite toys:
1) BOB - My Battery Operated Boyfriend (lol)
2) My laptop snd the new version of Adobe Illustrator
3) My Camera
4) My DVD Burner
5) My Massage Chair (that I haven't used in awhile)
Which also reminds me, Kel from Mama? MAMA COME HERE! who is also a dear friend of mine has tagged me months ago, and I couldn't get to it. So I'm truly sorry Kel - and I will be better next time.

Pls. don't be a stranger and we'll keep up with the emails! Maybe you can guest post here once in awhile? :-)
